Freeport-to-Port O'Connor Toy Run

What about a captain's list and the auction I have heard of?
  • We keep a current list of all captain's, their boat name and the number of passengers they will be bringing. This list is available here on the Captain's Page and also at the Bluewater board on www.2coolfishing.com. We also run an online auction each year on the 2cool online forum in the Bluewater board. You can find some truly impressive items to bid on so please go there and take a look.
How do we become a sponsor?
  • We do not have sponsors for this event...only supporters! If the only reason you help the children is to get your company name in the spotlight then this may not be the event for you. We know that most large companies require that any money given must have a certain amount of advertising and you are welcome to fly their banners, put up a sign or pass out flyers but we do not have official sponsors or recognition for such. It is all about the kids.
How far is the run and are there fuel stops along the way?
  • The total distance one-way is 72 miles with most of it in the protected waters of the ICW. A short 12 miles is across Matagorda Bay but in the event of bad weather we simply have smaller boats tuck in behind or to the side of the large boats for safety and comfort. Fuel is available along the way at Sargent and Matagorda Harbor.
How about lodging and slips in POC?
  • The official host hotel in POC is The Inn At Clark's where each room has it's own boat slip. There are many other choices for lodging and the complete list is available at www.portoconnor.com. Transportation is provided for those who stay in hotels not on or near he water. Plenty of slips for any size boat are available. There are no slip fees during this event.
Do we have to decorate our boat and participate in the lighted boat parade?
  • No, this is strictly voluntary but it sure is a lot of fun.
Can we leave from different ports and meet at POC??
  • Absolutely! We have boats joining us from ports along the way and others coming from ports south of POC such as Rockport and Port Aransas. Just try to be at the little jetties in POC around 3:00 PM for the assembly and offload of toys.
Will slips be available at Port O'Connor?
  • Yes. slips are available to accomodate any size boat. If you have any special needs just let us know ahead of time.
